This handcrafted Moroccan bellows (40 × 15 cm) is made in the medina of Marrakech from solid cedarwood and genuine leather. It is adorned with carved bone details, often from sheep bone. Two variants are available: a natural version with white bone, and another featuring henna-stained motifs, using Morocco’s traditional plant-based dye that adheres beautifully to porous materials. Both functional and decorative, this piece highlights the rare craftsmanship of Master Hajel, one of Morocco’s last remaining bellows-makers.

  • Genuine hand-stitched leather
  • Decorative carved animal bone

A living Moroccan tradition

Bellows have long been part of Moroccan daily life. Once used to revive the hearth fire in every home, they’re still incredibly useful today — from fireplaces and wood stoves to outdoor grills and braziers. This version adds character and heritage to any home.

Craftsmanship on the brink of extinction

Master Hajel is among the very few artisans still practicing the ancestral art of bellows-making. Each piece is handcrafted from start to finish using traditional tools and methods, passed down over generations. His creations are both rare and timeless.

Made to last

The use of quality materials ensures both beauty and durability. Cedarwood resists heat and cracking, while hand-stitched leather offers strength and flexibility. The wrought iron nozzle ensures safe and effective use — even with intense flames.

Two finishes to choose from

Choose between the minimalist charm of natural white bone or the unique style of henna-dyed carvings. The latter uses an age-old Moroccan technique where the dye is applied and absorbed into the bone, resulting in soft brown patterns that never fade.
