Collection: Moroccan and Berber rugs collection

Online Medina invites you into a world woven from memory, ancestral gestures, and noble materials. Our collection of Moroccan and Berber rugs brings together the finest examples of Morocco’s textile heritage, handmade by skilled women artisans with deep respect for local traditions. Each rug featured here is unique — the result of slow, patient work rooted in generations of cultural transmission.

Whether they come from the Middle Atlas, the Anti-Atlas mountains, the Haouz plains or the edges of the desert, all our rugs tell a story. Their motifs, colors, and textures reflect tribal identity, family heritage, and symbolic language passed down from mother to daughter. By choosing a rug from Online Medina, you support a living, sustainable, and profoundly human craft.

A wide variety of styles for all interiors

The strength of our collection lies in the diversity of its origins and styles. Each region of Morocco has its own weaving techniques, favored materials, and cultural patterns. You’ll find the following styles — and more — at Online Medina:

  • Beni Ouarain rugs: Originating in the Middle Atlas, these rugs are woven from undyed wool with minimalist black geometric patterns on a creamy white base — now iconic in modern design.
  • Azilal rugs: Playful and colorful, often abstract or figurative, these pieces capture the spontaneity and creativity of the Azilal region’s weavers.
  • Boujaad rugs: Known for their warm tones — pinks, oranges, ochres — and complex compositions blending knotted and woven textures, Boujaad rugs are deeply expressive.
  • Kilim rugs: Flat-woven and reversible, these lightweight rugs feature tight geometric patterns. They’re practical, decorative, and perfect for boho or modern interiors.
  • Zemmour, Glaoui, Taznakht rugs: These intricate pieces combine multiple techniques: knotting, weaving, and embroidery. Their natural dyes and rich detail make them especially unique.

Whether monochrome or multicolored, minimalist or bold, each rug holds a story. It can serve as a floor covering, a wall hanging, or a decorative accent. These rugs suit all interiors: modern, traditional, eclectic, or minimalist. More than décor, they are cultural objects that carry meaning and presence.

100% handmade with natural materials

At Online Medina, we do not sell industrial or factory-made rugs. Every piece is handmade in Morocco, in family-run workshops or women-led cooperatives. We use natural materials: sheep wool, cotton, sabra (vegetable silk), and plant- or mineral-based dyes. Each rug takes days or even weeks to create.

We select every rug personally, in direct collaboration with the artisans. This approach ensures authenticity, traceability, and fair compensation. Some rugs are vintage or antique, others newly made, but all reflect a unique craftsmanship that honors time and tradition.

Multiple sizes and custom orders

Our collection includes rugs of all dimensions: bedside rugs, hallway runners, large living room pieces, prayer mats, or decorative textiles. You can filter by size, color, or origin to find the perfect fit. If you’re looking for a made-to-order rug (exact size, pattern, or custom colors), our team can coordinate a special request with the artisan for you.

A conscious and ethical purchase

Choosing a rug from Online Medina means making an ethical decision. We fairly compensate the women who weave these pieces, supporting their independence and preserving ancestral techniques. Our rugs are sustainable, made to last, and grow in beauty over time. Unlike mass-produced items, they develop character with use and become heirlooms in their own right.

Worldwide shipping and personalized support

We ship worldwide from our warehouse in Casablanca. Each rug is carefully packed and tracked. If you’re hesitating between models, we can offer advice over WhatsApp, send additional photos or videos, and guide you based on your space and needs.
