En savoir plus

The Hand of Fatima, also known as the Khamsa, is one of the best-known symbols of the Maghreb. In North African traditions, it is associated with protection, good fortune and balance. Combined with geometric Amazigh carvings, it becomes a wall decoration with a strong cultural meaning.

Each piece is shaped entirely by hand by Master Hajel in his workshop in Marrakech’s medina. Using traditional tools, he carves, polishes and engraves the cedar before carefully setting the metal hand. Variations in relief, grain and finish give every example its own distinctive character.

Moroccan cedar is appreciated for its strength, light fragrance and fine grain. Its matte surface reveals warm shades that develop over time. The decorative hand, available in copper, brass or silver-coloured aluminium, adds contrast and light, creating a balanced dialogue between wood and metal.

Displayed in a living room, entryway or bedroom, this Berber talisman highlights a symbolic heritage and Master Hajel’s craftsmanship. More than a simple ornament, it brings together sculpture, Amazigh culture and Moroccan handwork in a piece suited to both contemporary and more traditional interiors.
