Omtad’s Handwoven Textiles
In the medina of Rabat, Master Omtad preserves one of Morocco’s most respected textile traditions. His workshop is a quiet space where wool, cotton and sabra fibers are selected, dyed and woven entirely by hand. Every rug, cushion or wall hanging is crafted on a traditional loom, using methods passed down through generations of Rabat weavers. Patterns emerge gradually: geometric shapes, protective diamonds and subtle Berber-inspired lines. Nothing is hurried—each piece takes the time it needs, shaped by rhythm, precision and intention.
Some creations reflect the refined weaving styles of the coastal regions, while others echo the geometric harmony typical of central Morocco. The diversity of textures and tones showcases Omtad’s mastery: soft wool rugs for living rooms, decorative cushions for modern interiors, handwoven poufs, and durable textile bags designed for everyday use. No industrial materials, no mass production—only unique, handmade pieces.
By choosing a handmade textile from Master Omtad, customers support local craftsmanship rooted in Rabat’s cultural identity. This direct, ethical relationship ensures fair compensation for the artisan and guarantees the authenticity of each item. Every creation carries a fragment of Rabat’s heritage, weaving warmth, meaning and artistry into contemporary homes.
