Collection: Hammered metal wall art and sculptures
Wall art, lighting, animal sculptures… Maître Hilab's boutique on Online Medina showcases the rare expertise of a Moroccan master metalworker based in the medina of Marrakech. Trained in the traditional school of craftsmanship, he works with copper, brass, and tin using age-old techniques of hammering, cutting, and chiseling to create unique handmade pieces.
Each hammered metal creation by Hilab pays tribute to the legacy of the great masters of Fès. The workshop preserves an ancestral craft where raw materials come to life under the skilled hand of the artisan. Designs begin on paper and are then precisely cut, polished, engraved, or patinated, depending on the desired finish: raw, satin, or finely detailed.
Hilab’s world is deeply rooted in Moroccan heritage, yet shaped by a contemporary vision. Stylized roosters, wall geckos, swallows, cats, snails, hot-air balloons—his pieces come alive with poetry, humor, or symbolism. Each shape evokes nature, daily life, or Moroccan tradition, always striking a balance between heritage and creativity.
His collection also features a wide range of brass coat hooks, engraved plaques, decorative numbers and words ("LOVE", "HOME"), and stunning cut-out Fatima hands. Many pieces are made from recycled brass or polished tin, reinforcing their sustainable and ethical character. Nothing is imported or mass-produced—everything is imagined and made in his own workshop in the heart of Marrakech.
By choosing a creation by Maître Hilab on Online Medina, you’re supporting more than just an artisan. You are helping preserve a living cultural heritage, promote rare craftsmanship, and ensure a fair and direct trade model. Each object tells a story—of a hand at work, of light on metal, of Moroccan heritage reimagined.
Hilab’s pieces are not only decorative—they are functional, symbolic, timeless, and ideal for modern interiors: a metal wall light to brighten a space, a bird sculpture to welcome guests, a Fatima keyring to gift, or a personalized house plaque.
Explore this one-of-a-kind collection where every piece reflects the strong connection between artisan and material, between creation and culture. It’s a true immersion in the best of Moroccan metalwork, in its most authentic form.
